DIY Pallet Clock (Part 2)

Sometimes there are DIY projects that go just as planned... this one took some extra elbow grease.

None the less, the end product was worth all the hang up.  It is such a beautiful piece!

So my first word of advice, don't get your clock kid from Hobby Lobby.  Mine was broke and missing pieces, even though it was brand new and not opened or tampered with.  We ended up buying a second set from a clock supplier on Amazon.

Second piece of advice, make sure you wood is as thin as you can get it to be.  The post on the clock kit is only so long.  We had to do some extra sanding on the back for the clock workings box would fit.

Lastly this clock is 24" wide and needed a high torque clock kit.  If your clock is smaller, order a kit that matches your size of clock.

My new video is the 2nd part of the Pallet Clock tutorial, you can see the first part in my Day in the Life of a DIYer post here:

Mason Jars! Crossin My Heart Creations Etsy Shop

Welcome to The Daily DIYers Etsy Shop!

I feel like I am an "evolving crafter."  I sort of get my feet wet in a lot of different types of crafts.  I think all "good" crafters sort of get into something, prefect it, and then move onto something new.  In my mind, I don't really get bored with projects, I just want to try new things!
I had this wild idea to streamline my Etsy Shop.  It was a hodge podge of different things.  I've had this love for Mason Jars for a long time now and thought, I just want to have a shop full of Mason Jar items!

DIY Play Dough

My son LOVES play dough... no really... L.O.V.E.S. play dough.  Play dough happens every single day in our house.  We go through a can of play dough basically every day around here.  He leaves it out, he plays with it so much it gets gross, half ends up on the floor... you get the idea.

I have been washing and storing the little play dough cans for just this occasion.  Time to make some new home made play dough!

Here's the ingredients you'll need:
-Flour
-Water
-Salt
-Oil
-Cream of Tartar
-Food Color
-Wood Spoon
-Sauce Pan

See the video below to see the full tutorial!

SURPRISE! Wizard of Oz Party

Guys... my mom is seriously THE BEST MOM.
She beats me in the "Mommaing" for sure.  Mainly because not only is she a great mom to me but a great GRAMMA to my kids.  That's double duty right there.

We got her tickets to see the production of The Wizard of Oz for her 55th birthday.
Sure, I could have wrapped them up and just handed them to her - but that's NO FUN.

In comes the SURPRISE Wizard of Oz themed birthday party!

We had already taken her out to dinner (we had the best homemade gourmet hamburgers of our lives y'all!).  This was after dinner where we brought her back to our home for dessert - or so she thought.

Here's are a few photos from her special night, if you'd like to see more details and the look on her surprised face, watch the video linked below.

Enjoy!
