Closet Organization

Of the things we put off....  my daughter's clothes closet was definitely one of those things.

Recently I DID go through her clothes and got rid of a lot that no longer fit her. (I bed you can't tell from all the clothes still left in there.. girls...).  Not only does she have a ton of clothes, but I have all seasons in there, and she is now in bigger sizes which means bigger clothes, which means, takes up more space in the clothes.

At one time there were toys in this closet too, but now, there is just no room for anything except clothes.

Here's a fun fast forwarded video of me finally getting around cleaning, organizing, and purging even more clothes from beginning to end!  I only wish cleaning really did go this quickly!

Enjoy!

YouTube Channel & Blog Update

As I said in my last post - I am taking a tiny step back from DAILY DIYs.  Well actually I'll still be Daily DIYing in my life, that's a given.  However, posting them all onto a blog and creating a video tutorial is just VERY time consuming.  I have very limited time as of lately.  I have decided to post DIYs and videos as I am able to and will pick and choose which projects are Blog and YouTube worthy.

You can follow my INSTAGRAM, where I post finished product photos and cool things on there!

I actually have a couple videos in the works for the near future so PLEASE SUBSCRIBE and stay tuned!  I have lots more to share!  (Just not on a daily basis)

Vinyl Projects Video Collage

Although I can't do a tutorial video on ALL my pieces, I thought I'd at least make a video collage of the pieces I have made so far this summer.

All these pieces are either vinyl or stenciled, or a combo of both.  Each is made with designs I made on my Silhouette machine.  Some are commissioned pieces, orders, or decor for my own home.

I hope they inspire you!

Enjoy!

Removable Back Splash

This is a great DIY for temporary kitchen decor.  It's also very inexpensive!  It didn't even take an entire roll of contact paper to complete my kitchen.  Entire new and brighter look for under $10.00!

As much as I like the navy blue color, it make it very much like I was doing food prep in a cave.  Always so dark!  Even when the sun was out!  We've tried several different under the counter lights and have LEDs at the moment which are ok, but the bright white has improved the way the light bounces onto the counter tops.

I'm still trying to let this print grow on me.  It's not quite what I wanted, but it's ok.  And for the brighter look it gives to the kitchen, I think I'll keep it around awhile.  However, when I get tired of it or change my mind - it's REMOVABLE.  It will peel off and no one will know the difference.

Here's a video of how this look came together and also a look at how I staged my counter tops.

Enjoy!

Tower Garden

We have had our tower garden for 3 years now, this will be the 4th.
We tried it out on our back patio last year, where there isn't much sun, and it just didn't do as well.  So back out onto the front patio it went.

We just LOVE the lettuce that this tower garden grows.  You really can't beat it.  SO YUMMY!  Our banana peppers did great last year, this year isn't looking quite the same which is a bummer.

Here's a gradual progress of our process this year and where we are now growth wise.

Hope you enjoy the video!

How a Hair Bow Comes to Life!

This is my most favorite DIY to do - making hair bows.  I've been doing it for over 8 years now.  It's been a passion of mine since my dear friend Sarah introduced me to the idea when my daughter was just a year old.  I started making her bows then ran with it till I had a really successful business going.  Then my son was born when my daughter was 7 and things started to slow down in my hair bow world.  Now that he is 2 and a little more able to entertain himself and sleeps finally, I have more time to get back to making my beloved hair bows again.

I've revamped my entire brand.  Logo, online store, and product line.  A complete 100% over haul.  I thought it would be fun to create a video for my clients to see a glimpse inside the makings of a Crossin My Heart Creations hair bow.

So although this isn't a tutorial, it is a DIY caught in action.

I hope you enjoy the video and also visit my online store!

DIY Flag Shorts

I was inspired by a video that was going around on facebook to create these flag shorts.  My daughter saw some at the store and HAD TO HAVE A PAIR.  So, we dug out the old jeans and had a mother/daughter craft session together.

The best part about this whole craft session was we also went through her jeans, got rid of the ones that were too small, cut down the ones that were too short on her into shorts, and organized the ones that she still was able to wear (hopefully into next school year).

So all in all we were very productive!  I love how our shorts turned out and I can't wait to wear theme tomorrow to the 4th of July celebrations we have!

Enjoy!

4th of July Entry Table Tour

I had some left over 4th of July pieces I didn't want to go back into the storage box for another year, so I set them our on my entry table to greet our guests.

It's easy to add little red, white, and blue accents here and there - even last minute, to create a nice patriotic look to your home's decor!

Here's a full video tour of all the details shown in the photo above.

Enjoy!
