DIY Let it Snow Pallet Wood Sign with Burlap Banner

I went sent an inspiration photo by a client asking if I could recreate it for her.  This is a piece I've never attempted before, however I knew I could make it happen.  It was an interesting mix of styles and materials, the perfect mix of rustic pallet wood, glamorous silver glitter, and the added texture of burlap.  In the end it really all did just come together.

This is a longer DIY video, only because you are getting two tutorials in one.  The first is the wood sign and the second is the burlap banner piece.  It was involved, but worth the effort to have a happy client who had this on her home decor wish list.

Linked below on the video tutorial - I hope you enjoy!

DIY Shiplap Framed Wood Sign

If you'd like that farmhouse shiplap look without adding a ton of nails to your walls - this is a great alternative!  I HAD to have some shiplap in my home and this was a great way to get that look without the major commitment.

My regular framed wood signs don't take near as much time (or effort), however, this piece has so much character!  It was definitely worth the added time.  Now that I've made one, the next will come together a little faster.

I did break out my Kreg Jig for this project.  Me and that guy don't always get along, but I think I've conquered it finally.  You'll see in the video how I used it to make the pocket holes that keep the spaced shiplap together.

This was my first attempt at shiplap.  Surprisingly it went pretty smoothly!  I didn't have tile spacers so I improvised with pennies and it worked out great!  You'll see how this piece was made in the video linked below.  Hope you enjoy!

Clothes Pin Photo Clip Wood Sign

Using just a few simple items, you can have yourself a beautiful home decor piece!  Or, since this piece was designed around the holiday's, this wood sign also makes a great gift!  Think Christmas, birthdays, grandparents day, Father's Day, Mother's Day, just because... should I go on?
I love the versatility of this piece as well.  It came be customized with colors and finished to match your taste or home's theme.  You can also change the wording to match the event or photo's you'll be adding.  (For a mom, wedding, display vacation photos, recipe cards in the kitchen, Christmas cards for the holidays... I could go on, but you get creative!
I used a 1"x10" common board but down to 16" long.  You can see the whole tutorial in the video linked below.  Hope you try this project and hope you enjoy the DIY video!

Lamp Makeover FAIL | DIY Mercury Glass

I've always loved the look of mercury glass, but I sure don't like the price tag.  I started with watching some DIY videos and checking out some blogs who had tried this before.  I grabbed a glass vase from the Dollar Tree and did a trial run.  I was so in love with the results!  I want to mercury glass all the things now! Haha!
Unfortunately I really wanted  mercury glass lamps and that DIY did not turn out the way I had hoped.
I created a DIY video of how I created my first mercury glass in the video linked below.  You can also see my failed lamp makeover attempt.
I hope you enjoy!

Large Firefighter Wood Sign

Because my husband is a volunteer firefighter, this sign older got some added extra special love.  I can relate to the wife that worded it, and as you'll hear in the video, the siren at the beginning is a very familiar sound in volunteer firefighter's home.  As soon as that siren goes off, everything stops, my husband drops everything he's doing and speeds off to the firehouse to gear up.  It can be exciting and also a source of anxiety, because as the wife, of course I worry every single call.  I never know when he'll be home or where he's going.  None the less, I am also very proud him.  He is off to help someone who is in dire need, and using the skills he's put in a lot of time and work to learn.

I share with you in the video linked below, just how this special piece came to life.
I hope you enjoy!

BIG Trader Joe's Haul

I'm obsessed with Trader Joe's.  It's a shame we don't have one closer to where we live.  It's a good 45 minutes from our home, depending on traffic.  Their quality of food, healthy nature, and prices just can't be beat.

Their frozen food is some of the best I've had.  I rarely buy anything frozen except for plain veggies.  They have some great combinations of frozen veggies and meal starters.  They make for easy and last minute meals.

We recently were in the Trader Joe's area and of course I had to do a big grocery shopping tripe while we were out.  I picked up some of my favorites and also some new foods to try that have been on my bucket list.

Hope you enjoy this haul video!

Framed Wood Sign - "Our Nest"

I'm pretty sure this is my favorite wood sign this far.  The color combo and the wood stain, it all just looks so pretty and airy.  This was another client request and she is the one to credit for the color combination.  If I had a place for one, I'd probably my one for my own home too, just because I love it that much.

The video tutorial I am including below shows how I made this piece.  If you'd like a more in-depth tutorial on how to frame wood signs you can see that blog post HERE.
Hope you enjoy!
