No Sew DIY Throw Pillows

There are a lot of times I can't find what I'm looking for in the store, so I move onto making things myself.

I really went for the whole rustic, cabin, deer, buffalo plaid theme for our Christmas decor this year.  I just couldn't find the throw pillows I had envisioned in my head.  I found these natural muslin type throw pillow covers at Hobby Lobby and the fabric at Joann Fabrics store.  Head & Bond iron on no-sew is a great friend of mine, ha!  I do not enjoy sewing, so I use this stuff whenever I can.

Here is the template I used for my pillows if you'd like to also make these for yourself.  I did print it off on card stock so it was a little more hefty when it came to actually using the template to trace.

To use:
Right click and SAVE
then PRINT

I share with you in the video linked below just how I made these custom throw pillows.
Hope you enjoy!

DIY Christmas Tree Bow

I have been making little girl's hair bows for nearly 10 years now (www.CrossinMyHeart.com).  It seems only natural for me to add bows to my Christmas tree and other holiday decor too.  You can easily adapt this same style of bow into a hair bow if you so chose to.  It's a "cheer bow" of sorts, or what us bow makers call "tails down" bow.

I created a quite and easy tutorial on how to make this bow to decorate your Christmas tree with.  I like the wire edge ribbon for this purpose because it holds their nice fully bow loops much better this way.  I do not suggest this wire ribbon for hair bows though.  Stick with grosgrain ribbon for the little ones.  No one likes being poked with wire, especially on top of their heads.

Here's the easy tutorial.
Hope you enjoy!

Target Dollar Spot Ornament

As soon as I saw these beauties I snatched them up!  Deer and the buffalo (red/black) plaid is the exact theme I was going for this year's Christmas decor in our home!  I knew they would be put to good use.

I kept this one very simple because they were too perfect by themselves.
See how I decorated with them in my new DIY tutorial video.
Hope you enjoy!

Snow Globe Bottle Brush Tree Ornament

I wanted to add some sort of Mason Jar to my Christmas tree this year.  I have had a strange mason jar obsession as of late, so it seemed fitting.  I knew even the smallest of mason jars was not going to work for my needs (tree decor), so I looked for a mini version.

I found that at Joann Fabric's in the form of little wedding favor jars.  They were the cutest little things!  Then came the task of figuring out how to make them work as an ornament.  I instantly thought, snow globe!

I created a DIY video to share with you how I created these adorable little ornaments and also show you how beautiful they look nestled on the branches of my Christmas tree.
Hope you enjoy!

Pinecone Ornament

What's better than free decor?  Not much in my book!  Me and my little ones went on an "adventure" to find pinecones and we lucked out and found the perfect ones.  We loaded up an IKEA bag full and headed home to do some crafts!  My craft, were these beautiful woodland rustic ornaments for our Christmas tree.

In all, I did spend a whopping $2 (well less then $2 even) on some satin ribbon for the bows.  However, I was able to get 2 dozen ornaments made for less than $2.00!

All you'll need for this project are: pinecones, ribbon, jute, white paint, paint brush, and your oven.

The most important part about his project is baking your pinecones before you do any crafting with them.  Tiny bugs like to make their homes in these cute little things, so make sure to bake them all at 200* for 30 minutes.  Then you are off and running to create your projects!

I created a quick DIY video to show you how I made these ornaments in case you'd like to create some of these for your own Christmas tree this year!

Hope you enjoy!

Chalkboard Mason Jar Lid Ornament

These ornaments are so beautiful and rustic at the same time!  I had a ton of these jar lids and rings left over from some mason jar projects and knew they would come in handy.  Turns out I was going to use many of them for my Christmas tree!  Aren't mason jars great for SO MANY THINGS?!  I love them!

I created a quick and easy to follow DIY video for this project so you can create some of your own!  These would be great for a lot of different things.  Ex: wedding decor, organize baskets and bins, food buffet tables, table settings, and so many more great uses are out there too!

Hope this video helps inspire you!
Enjoy!

Chic Jute Orb Ornaments

I absolutely how these jute orb ornaments turned out!  I am not going to lie though, they can get sort of messy.  I watched a few different tutorials on different ways to create these and sort of mixed what I thought would work and luckily it did!  It also cute down on a lot of the mess I felt that came with a lot of the other DIY tutorials.

What I really love about these jute orb ornaments is how the Christmas lights glisten through all the little holes.  The mix of lights and rustic cuteness is my favorite combination!

I created a DIY tutorial video so you can create these for yourself!
Hope you enjoy!
